The Idea Behind

Bangkok Art Book Fair 2025 — You Can Sit With Us, proudly presents OPEN GROUND, a platform where we explore new forms of exchange driven by our community.

Conceived as a space for self-initiated activity, the program contains contributions from exhibitors who wish to engage with the audience beyond their tables. Join us to discover the vibrant program across three days, featuring talk series, book launches, reading groups, zine workshops, shadow libraries, and mixology-infused conversations.

The Idea Behind

The 7th Bangkok Art Book Fair is themed ‘You Can Sit With Us,’ recognizing that art books and independent publications are more than just print—they are spaces of gathering, exchange, and shared experience.

This year, BKKABF warmly welcomes guest curator Belle Phromchanya to the table, who has shaped the theme as an open invitation to connect. An artist, designer, facilitator, and lecturer at Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, Belle is also a co-founder of NON NATIVE NATIVE, a cultural platform exploring Asian diaspora narratives in Europe. Drawing from her experience in organizing cultural events, she envisions BKKABF as a space where publishing becomes a point of connection; carrying our curiosity, creativity, and knowledge.

Join us December 5–7 at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) to explore publications by 126 exhibitors from 25 countries, along with a variety of activities over three days.

This is for anyone interested in art books and independent publications, who wants to learn and be part of our event organisation through roles such as translation, program coordination, talk & workshop facilitation, managing space, and welcoming visitors.

Qualifications:
- Able to communicate in English
- Interested in event facilitation
- Able to attend the event in person
during the fair December 4-7, 2025,
from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
